Samia Ohm MA, LPC - Licensed Professional Counselor

After graduating with a Bachelors in Psychology from Arizona State University, Samia received her Masters in Clinical Psychology as well as a Graduate degree in Theology from Wheaton Graduate School.  She has worked with individuals, children, and families in various clinical settings for over 16 years.

While working at a church based counseling center, Samia led groups for children who had experienced the loss of a parent.  She developed a church based curriculum to help children who were struggling with the challenges that the loss of a parent can bring.  Samia also spent 2 years working for Frontiers, a mission organization.  She assisted in interviewing, screening and placing applicants wishing to serve in the Middle East.  She also evaluated applicants in various, simulations to predict how they would function on a team.

She also spent seven years working as a counselor to children who had suffered severe sexual, physical and emotional abuse.  Along with counseling them individually she also led various psycho educational groups for them.

More recently she has been working as a counselor in private practice with an emphasis in women’s issues, including trauma and loss.  She has a passion to see God bring “beauty from ashes” in the lives of those who have experienced pain in their past.  For the last three years she has been a Clinical Professional with Mending the Soul Ministries and for part of that time she was working under the supervision of Celestia Tracey, founder of Mending the Soul Ministries. She has led several therapeutic MTS Professional groups for women who have experienced pain, trauma or abuse.

In recent years her own life experience with grief and loss has only increased her passion to help those who are hurting.  Her greatest blessing is being the mother of 3 young children:  Hannah, who showed
amazing strength as she won a long arduous, battle with cancer, Josiah who finds joy in all he does, and Micah who entered heaven right before he was delivered.
